The great pumpkin fest

By Times Staff
Published October 20, 2005

Pumpkin patches are starting to do a brisk business as Halloween looms.

Hunsader Farms in Manatee County celebrates the pumpkin and autumn with its annual festival Friday through Sunday and again Oct. 29 and 30. In addition to traditional fall farm activities (hayrides, pony rides, produce sales), Hunsader offers hot air balloon rides, arts and crafts, pioneer trades demonstrations, antique cars and more.

Country star Terri Clark performs at 2 p.m. Sunday with other bands throughout the weekend. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday and Oct. 29 and 30. Admission is $6 Friday and Saturday and $8 Sunday. Children are free. Hunsader Farms is on County Road 675, about 10 miles east of Interstate 75 Exit 220. (941) 322-2168 or www.hunsaderfarms.com
