HOLIDAY - A 43-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning on charges he molested a 6-year-old girl.

Mark DeVous, of 1900 Melody Drive in Holiday, was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation. He was in the county jail Saturday, held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

The incident occurred about 9:20 p.m. Friday, according to a Pasco Sheriff's Office report, when the two were in bed together, the child naked, the man clad only in boxer shorts.

One witness told deputies the man had the child touch him inappropriately, the report said. Another witness said they saw the victim straddling the man, according to the report.

The victim, whose identity and relationship to the accused is being withheld by authorities, told deputies DeVous has molested her in the past.

After being read his rights, DeVous denied the allegations, the report said.
