Little-known facts about cigars:
* Unveiled in August: Sopranos Edition cigars, by CAO International. Sizes, from smallest to largest, include the Associate, the Soldier and the Boss.
* Before President John F. Kennedy signed the embargo on Cuban exports in 1962, he had Press Secretary Pierre Salinger purchase about 1,000 Cuban cigars for his own stash.
* Four of the first six people inducted into Cigar Aficionado's hall of fame had Tampa roots: Carlos Fuente Sr., Frank Llaneza, Stanford Newman and Angel Oliva Sr.
* Researchers attending a cigar event in San Francisco found that carbon monoxide levels inside were higher than those typically found on a busy California freeway.
* In 1896, the Tampa Morning Tribune wrote that "the cigar industry is to this city what the iron industry is to Pittsburgh, or (the) cotton mill industry to Manchester."
* When Ybor City cigar factories experienced labor strife around the turn of the 20th century, it was not unusual for the Tampa Board of Trade to form a posse that would beat up ringleaders or chase them out of town.
* Cover subjects for Cigar Aficionado have included actors Susan Lucci and Denzel Washington, athletes Wayne Gretzky and Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez, and actor Michael Richards, who played Kramer on Seinfeld.
