VH1. In the network's new show (But Can They Sing?), former heavyweight boxing champ Larry Holmes will be one of the contestants. Let's hope for Holmes' sake (and the 200 people watching), he has a better voice than Carl Lewis.

An open letter to former Vikings owner Red McCombs:

Oh Great Crimson One, earlier this year you told reporters you wanted credit for all of the Vikings' anticipated success this season. Then Thursday on the radio, responding to complaints from new owner Zygi Wilf that you left the organizational cupboard bare, you asked what Zygi was "smoking."

My question is this:

To put it in Texas terms, Red, isn't that your brand on the Vikings' flank? Your management skills transformed this team from Super Bowl contender to what might be the worst team in the worst division in the history of professional sports. Only a highly skilled car salesman could persuade a shrewd businessman like Zygi Wilf to purchase an AMC Gremlin like the 2005 Vikings for $600-million.
