Sharks' regional is rescheduled

By VINCENT THOMAS

Due to Hurricane Wilma, Nature Coast Tech's regional quarterfinal match against Orlando Bishop Moore was rescheduled for Wednesday.

Joy Greene, Nature Coast's athletic director, got a call from the Florida High School Athletic Association on Monday morning, alerting her of the change. Greene relayed the message to Sharks coaches Maria Garcia and Aixa Crespo.

The schedule change is a bit of a boon for Nature Coast Tech.

Limping star Ileana Santos could use an extra day of rest for her bruised left ankle. With last week's three district tournament games, Santos hasn't had much time to heal the ankle she injured Oct.11 against Central.

"Yes - I guessed it kind of worked out," Crespo said.

The Sharks will leave Brooksville on Wednesday, about 1 p.m., to make the trip east to Orlando. They will travel in a caravan of

minivans as opposed to buses, which won't finish their afternoon routes in time for the squad to make the two-hour journey and arrive well before the 7 p.m. start.

Once they arrive and the match begins, the Sharks will be facing a more than worthy opponent, Bishop Moore (22-5).

"I was on their website, and I saw they had something like 26 wins or something," Crespo said. "We'll see what happens Wednesday."
