NEW PORT RICHEY - Police filed an additional charge of armed robbery and kidnapping against one of the two brothers accused of robbing convenience stores on U.S. 19.

Victor Thomas Torres, 25, of 5011 Sunbelt Lane in New Port Richey is being held without bond in the Pasco County jail. New Port Richey police said Torres brandished a knife at Quik Stop, 7529 U.S. 19, and demanded cigarettes and cash on Oct. 5. The report said he forced a clerk into a storage room and fled with two cartons of cigarettes and $600 in cash.

Torres and his 19-year-old brother, Lucas Mateo Torres, also face charges for an Oct. 20 robbery and Oct. 26 attempted robbery at other U.S. 19 convenience stores. They were arrested by New Port Richey police on Oct. 26 after Lucas Torres crashed during a high-speed chase.
