Shorecrest Preparatory School will hold two open houses for prospective pre-K through 12th grade students. Parents and children can take campus tours and visit classrooms at 7 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday at the campus, 5101 First St. NE, St. Petersburg. The visitation period was rescheduled from an earlier date because of Hurricane Wilma. Call the admissions department at 522-2111, ext. 106, or visit the Web site at www.shorecrest.org

The Pinellas County School Board will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the district administration building, 301 Fourth St. SW, Largo.

The public is invited to attend. Anyone wishing to speak can do so by filling out a form at or before the meeting. Residents may speak about any item on the agenda not involving a hearing on employee discipline by registering five minutes before the item is introduced.

The meeting will be televised at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays for two weeks following the meeting date on WPDS-Ch. 14, Knology Ch. 14 and Bright House Networks Ch. 14.

The Pinellas County schools Office of Family and Community Development will host the following volunteer and parent training workshops on mentoring strategies:

- 10 a.m. to noon today, Eisenhower Elementary School, 2800 Drew St., Clearwater.

- 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Pinellas Park Park Station, Room 202, 5851 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park.

- 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 9, Mildred Helms Elementary School, 561 S Clearwater-Largo Road, Largo.
