Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Eden C. Bustin, daughter of Cherie Pattishall of Madeira Beach and James F. Bustin of Tampa, has completed Naval Nuclear Power Training Pipeline, qualifying him as a Naval nuclear operator. He is a 2003 graduate of Plant High School, Tampa.
Army Cadet Mark R. Lewis II, son of Sharon L. Touchton of St. Petersburg and Mark R. Lewis of Largo, has graduated from the ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. He is a 2005 graduate of Florida International University, Miami, and a 2001 graduate of St. Petersburg Catholic High School.
Navy Ensign Ryan W. Thrun, son of Barbara A. and Larry W. Thrun of St. Petersburg, recently was commissioned as an officer after completing Officer Candidate School at Officer Training Command, Pensacola. He graduated from the University of Florida, Gainesville, with a bachelor of science degree in 2005 and is a 1999 graduate of Northeast High School.
Air Force Airman Ronique K. Waite, son of Vivia Jefferson of St. Petersburg, has completed basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is a 2001 graduate of Gibbs High School.
The following recruits have completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., and were promoted to their current ranks:
Marine Corps Pfc. Christopher D. Haley, son of Tammy A. Gilbert of Pinellas Park.
Marine Corps Pfc. Alex M. Mieczkowski, son of Susan M. Fraser and Thomas M. Mieczkowski of St. Petersburg and a 2005 graduate of St. Petersburg Catholic High School.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Ricardo Valle, son of Carmen and Ricardo Valle of Pinellas Park and a 2005 graduate of Clearwater High School.
Navy Seaman Recruit Jessica N. Wikholm, daughter of Lisa M. Wikholm of St. Petersburg and Gregory D. Wikholm of Tarpon Springs and a 2004 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.
