INDIAN ROCKS BEACH - The first Sunset Serenade, sponsored by the North Beaches YMCA, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Nature Preserve, 903 Gulf Blvd. The event will include a Sunset Serenade and a wine tasting sponsored by Century 21 Plumlee Realty. The wine tasting will feature many wines in three pavilions around the park. Hors d'oeuvres will be catered by Guppy's on the Beach Seafood Grill & Bar, and a cash bar also will be available. Entertainment will be provided by Lorna Bracewell, a local singer-songwriter, who recently signed a contract with a national recording company. Cost for the event is $25 in advance and $35 at the gate. A silent auction of works by the Pleine Aire Cottage Artists and Larry Pumfrey will also be featured. Proceeds will benefit the YMCA's programs. Madeira BeachMadeira Beach Elementary School's 12th annual Fish Fry and Fun Fest will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. Business donations are being sought to defray costs. The students are collecting donations for the Kids Helping Kids program to learn the benefit of helping others. Boats are needed for the ninth annual Veterans Boat Parade to be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 12. The parade will proceed from just north of the Tom Stuart Bridge in Madeira Beach south to the Treasure Island Causeway and back. The proposed route will include Boca Ciega Bay, John's Pass and the large canals of Capri Isles, Isle of Palms and Paradise Island. Redington BeachesApplications for the Redington Beaches/Indian Shores Holiday Boat Parade are being accepted. The parade will begin at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 18 at the north side of the Madeira Beach Causeway. The boats will arrive about 8:30 p.m. at Estelle Harper Park in Indian Shores, where there will be fish chowder by Salt Rock Grill beginning at 7:30 p.m. The parade will end at the Pub Waterfront Restaurant & Lounge in Indian Shores about 9 p.m. The event will end with an awards ceremony and a free buffet. Planning for the Annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 3 is under way. This year, a new, longer parade route will wend from Paradise Island down around the Clock Tower and end at the Community Center, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for free photo sessions with children. The city's tree lighting will follow. The parade is sponsored by the Treasure Island Business Association.
