Choose from a wide menu of outdoor festivals featuring food and wine this weekend. Highlights include the Safety Harbor Wine Festival, featuring a well-selected range of wines and food bites from bay area restaurants and music along several blocks of Main Street downtown. This isn't just a grown-ups party either. There's a family area from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday with activities for the kids. Festival hours are 5 to 11 p.m. Admission is free. 727 724-1572. Short stacks are king in Land O'Lakes at the annual Flapjack Festival, where Steve Shaw of Tampa, left, and son Elijah enjoyed the stacks at last year's event. This year's fun goes from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday with a midway, arts and crafts, entertainment and food. Then Saturday, free pancakes are doled out from 8 to 10 a.m. with the parade at 11. The festival continues until 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Land O'Lakes Community Center, off U.S. 41, 3 miles north of SR 54. (813) 909-2722; or www.centralpascochamber.com Free admission.

And in Ruskin, seafood reigns, from the usual fried and boiled varieties to more exotic creations such as blue crab burritos. The food, music, kids' stuff and juried art show run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in E.G. Simmons Park, 2401 19th Ave. NW, Ruskin. $5, $4 seniors, kids free.
