Today's games
By JOANNE KORTH
Published November 6, 2005
THE HOT TICKET: Eagles (4-3) at Redskins (4-3)
TIME, TV: 8:30 P.M., ESPN
THE SCOOP: Both teams are coming off embarrassing blowout losses - the Eagles 49-21 at the Broncos and the Redskins 36-0 at the Giants - but the loser of this one risks losing touch with the NFC-East leading Giants. And you don't really think a sprained ankle will keep Terrell Owens from attempting to upstage Redskins deep-threat receiver Santana Moss, do you? Pay attention, Bucs fans, Washington comes to Tampa next weekend.
KORTH'S PICK: Redskins 20, Eagles 17
THE BUCS: Panthers (5-2) at Bucs (5-2)
TIME, TV: 1 P.M., CH. 13
THE SCOOP: The Panthers have won four straight since knocking the Bucs off the NFC South pedestal in 2003, always finding a way to pull out improbable victories. Whether the Bucs are ready to reclaim the top spot in the league's toughest division depends on whether the running game can help quarterback Chris Simms in his first career start at home. Also, Tampa Bay's defense must force two turnovers.
KORTH'S PICK: Bucs 20, Panthers 17

THE SCOOP: Texans have been a thorn in the Jags' side, but not today.
KORTH'S PICK: Jaguars 20, Texans 10
Raiders (3-4) at Chiefs (4-3)
TIME: 1 P.M.
THE SCOOP: Oakland has won three of its past four, but Chiefs get the nod at home.
KORTH'S PICK: Chiefs 24, Raiders 21
