Cobras rally for football

By FRANK PASTOR
Published November 8, 2005

Hudson will have a pep rally at 5 p.m. Thursday at Cobra Stadium in anticipation of the school's first football playoff game in 26 seasons.

A tailgate party will take place at 5, followed by the pep rally at 7:30. There will be an NFL-style fireworks display, and members of the 1979 team, Hudson's last to make the playoffs, will attend.

Judy Walker, Hudson's cheerleading coordinator, raised $3,500 to pay for the fireworks, and Zigmont Magic Fireworks offered to throw in pyrotechnics when players and coaches are introduced, coach Mark Nash said.

"It's going to be a huge deal," Nash said.

Hudson (8-2), the Class 3A, District 8 champion, plays host to 3A-7 runnerup Orlando Bishop Moore (8-1) in a region quarterfinal game at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Cobra Stadium.
