John Shear's troubles caught up with him in Tampa this week, more than 1,000 miles from home.
Wanted for questioning in connection with two homicides in Ohio, the 24-year-old Cleveland man was arrested Thursday in Tampa by U.S. marshals and Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies.
He was picked up four days after he led Ohio police on a high-speed chase at speeds over 100 mph, sideswiping six cars in the process, said Deputy U.S. Marshal Lisa Alfonso. Shear faces charges of assault with a firearm and escaping police in Cleveland.
He was booked into Orient Road Jail on Thursday. Hillsborough detectives worked with U.S. marshals to locate Shear at 11613 50th St., Apartment E, in Tampa, the home of Victor Emanuel Delgado, 24, a friend from home, Alfonso said.
Delgado was also arrested for possession of drugs. Shear faces extradition and removal back to Cleveland.
