The thrift store is part of the Homeless Emergency Project, a nonprofit organization that provides housing and supportive services for homeless individuals and families. Dunedin flotilla offers classes on boat safety

Worknet Pinellas to help place, train veterans
Worknet Pinellas will help place and train military veterans. All career fields are eligible, and training is done by the employer on site. This program is designed to give assistance in training funds as well as provide support in getting needed uniforms, tools and supplies for the job. Literacy Council offers help to improve English
The Literacy Council of Upper Pinellas has certified tutors available to teach individuals who wish to learn English or those who need to improve their reading and writing skills. Food Bank is accepting donations for the holidays
RCS Food Bank is accepting food donations for Thanksgiving and toys for the holidays. Toys will be accepted at the RCS office at 503 S Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Clearwater, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Kiwanis Club seeks to expand membership
The Kiwanis Club of Springtime City/Clearwater will hold a membership drive during November. The organization's major projects focus on children and include Head Start, annual children's health fairs and sponsorship of school youth service organizations. Beginning and advanced training offered for dogs
CLEARWATER - The Upper Suncoast Dog Training Club, a not-for-profit organization, offers beginning through advanced level classes in agility, clicker training, conformation, junior handling, obedience and puppy kindergarten.

Suncoast String Band looking for musicians
The Suncoast String Band, which has performed in Pinellas County for more than 25 years, needs musicians who can play saxophone, banjo, violin, guitar, accordion or drums. Donate used cell phones for seniors' use
Unused cell phones can be lifesavers for seniors. The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. and its Senior Victim Advocate Program are collecting used cell phones to distribute as 9-1-1 emergency or "Safety Phones" to seniors who are at risk. The cell phones are free to seniors and can only be used to access 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.
The agency has added two more distribution and collection sites for the Senior Safety Phone Project in Pinellas County, the Mainlands on U.S. 19 and Mainlands Boulevard in Pinellas Park, 217-0967, and the Senior Resource and Referral Center at 1281 Court St. in Clearwater, 442-7772.
