NEW PORT RICHEY - A 30-year-old man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on State Road 54 near Grand Boulevard.

Raymond F. Lane of Pecan Drive was headed east in the inside lane on a 1999 Yamaha about 1 p.m., a Florida Highway Patrol news release says. A pickup pulling a trailer tried to cross the eastbound lanes from a private drive toward SR 54's inside left turn lane, the release says. As the pickup, driven by 39-year-old Andrew G. Bork of Boston Circle, crossed Lane's path, the motorcycle struck the left rear side of the trailer. Lane was wearing a helmet, the release says. The patrol says the accident remains under investigation.
