Brandon soldier killed in Iraq attack

TAMPA - A Brandon soldier was among four who died in Iraq after a bomb detonated near their Humvee Tuesday.
Spc. Alexis Roman-Cruz, 33, of Brandon died in Balad, Iraq, Wednesday from injuries suffered in the explosion, according to the Defense Department.
Roman-Cruz was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, out of Fort Campbell, Ky.
Also dead is staff Sgt. James E. Estep, 26, of Leesburg. Estep died in Taji on Tuesday along with the other two who suffered injuries in the attack.
