USF men's basketball

COACH: Robert McCullum (21-36, third season; 65-81, sixth season overall).

LAST SEASON: 14-16, 5-11 Conference USA (11th).

NOTABLE: Depth is a major concern, especially at guard, where sophomore Collin Dennis and senior James Holmes are the only scholarship players. Forward Melvin Buckley gives the team scoring and swagger, and center Solomon Jones has put on 20 pounds to help him score (6.6 points) and rebound (6.2) as well as rack up blocks (2.1) last season. The next two best players are junior forwards Melvyn Richardson and McHugh Mattis, and they'll need to shore up the rebounding. Mattis is a long-armed leaper who will be a fan favorite for his dunking alone. The key to the Bulls making it to Madison Square Garden? Playing well in four games against Rutgers and Seton Hall, picked to finish 14th and 15th, then pulling off a home upset against teams such as DePaul or St. John's.

TICKETS: Single-game tickets range from $10-25 plus service charges, and students are admitted free with valid ID. Season tickets are $225-255. For more information, call toll-free 1-800-462-8557 or visit
