FSU basketball glance

COACH: Leonard Hamilton (45-48, fourth season; 245-258 overall).
LAST SEASON: 12-19, 4-12 ACC (tied for 10th).
NOTABLE: The Seminoles lost nine games by a total of 19 points, including six in the conference by 10 points. Had they merely split those, they would have gone to the NIT. Mercurial G Von Wafer bolted after two seasons for the NBA (drafted in the second round by the Lakers) and while FSU will miss his 3-point shooting, it could be a more cohesive bunch. Junior F Al Thornton blossomed last season and Gs Isaiah Swann, Jason Rich and Ralph Mims showed flashes as freshmen. Newcomers Jerel Allen, a junior college shooting G, and freshmen forwards Uche Echefu and Casaan Breeden figure to contribute immediately. FSU needs consistent play at PG.
TICKET INFORMATION: Single game - Adults $16/$12; ages 3-18 ($7/$5); group of at least 20 ($7/$5). Season - $216. Tickets can be ordered via the Internet at www.seminoles.com For information, call toll-free 1-888-378-6653.
