TAMPA - Nalini Miller had 21 points and All-America candidate Jessica Dickson added 20, leading six players in double figures as USF continued its strong start Wednesday night with a 98-60 win over Jacksonville.
The Bulls (3-0) shot 54.8 percent from the floor, 58.8 in the first half, and capitalized on 29 turnovers as they improved to 5-0 all-time against the Dolphins. Rachael Sheats had six steals and Ezria Parsons added eight rebounds.
"Anytime you have six players in double figures, and share the ball extremely well ... that's a big positive," USF coach Jose Fernandez said. "I thought we shared the ball well, ran the floor well, and executed well."
USF, which set a season high for points and victory margin, has yet to be seriously challenged, winning by an average of 29 points. The Bulls play their fourth straight home game Saturday against Maryland-Baltimore County before their first big test, Dec. 2 at No. 7 North Carolina.
Ashley Williams scored a season-high 27 and had nine rebounds and four steals for Jacksonville, playing its first game against a Big East school. Sheena Carpenter added 12 points and six assists, and Virginia Gregoire had 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, including both 3-point attempts.
FSU 82, UF 76: Ganiyat Adeduntan had 20 points and Britany Miller 12 points and eight rebounds as the host Seminoles rallied.
Florida State (2-1) trailed 57-46 with just more than 11 minutes left when it went on an 10-2 run to get within three. After Sarah Lowe's layup put the Gators (2-1) back up by five, the Seminoles reeled off a 12-2 spree to take the lead for good.
FSU did most of its damage on the boards and at the free-throw line. The Seminoles outrebounded Florida just 35-31 overall but 23-11 in the second half, and they made 19 of 28 free throws to 13 of 19 for the Gators.
FLA. SOUTHERN 91, P.R.-MAYAGUEZ: Sarah Pavelecky had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Willamina Folks had 16 points and five assists to lead the host Moccasins (1-2).
