College football

Got a minute? Nello Faulk, junior OL, FAU

Is the rivalry with FIU too new to be bitter?

It's real intense. Everybody's hyped up about the game. When we play this game, it doesn't matter if everybody's 0-10. We know it's going to be packed and real exciting to play.

So it's like any other big rivalry.

It's like Robinson vs. Plant when I was in high school. But a bigger crowd.

(FAU going 20-6) your freshman and sophomore years must have been amazing.

We went from not doing anything to being on TV every week (last year) and playing games on ESPN. It was exciting. My parents would watch the games at home and record them for me to see later.

Did you think that this year was going to be as tough as it was?

It's been pretty tough. We kind of expected it, but not really. All the games we lost except one, we came up (just) short. We did accomplish a lot. We're pretty young, so we have to learn how to play more as a team and finish the second half. We're not losing anybody. We'll probably be okay.
