Vanderbilt rallies to stay unbeaten

WASHINGTON - Shan Foster connected on five 3-pointers and scored 20 points to lead Vanderbilt to a 68-61 win over Georgetown on Saturday.
The Commodores (4-0) trailed by as many as 13 in the first half, but shot 59 percent in the second to send Georgetown (2-1) to a loss in its first home game of the season.
Foster scored 13 in the second half and made five of his eight 3-point attempts in the game. Mario Moore added 12 points off the bench for Vanderbilt.
Jeff Green scored 14 points to lead the Hoyas, who led 33-20 with 4:15 left in the first half.
However, The Commodores cut the lead to 36-29 at halftime and took a 41-39 lead with 15:23 left on a dunk by Foster, which capped a 21-6 run.
Vanderbilt pulled away to lead by as many as 10, and was able to keep its distance from Georgetown down the stretch.
Georgetown center Roy Hibbert, who had scored 20 or more points in Georgetown's first two games, finished with just six.
ARKANSAS 75, RADFORD 55: Jonathan Modica had 22 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, and six rebounds to lead the host Razorbacks.
Arkansas (3-2) shot 14-of-30 from the field in the first half for 46.7 percent compared to the Highlanders' 17.9 percent.
Whit Holcomb-Faye led Radford with 18 points. Chris Oliver earned a double-double for the Highlanders with his 13 points and 15 rebounds.
MISSISSIPPI 107, CENTENARY 67: Dwayne Curtis had 21 points and Todd Abernethy 16 to lead five double-figure scorers for the host Rebels (3-1).
Centenary (1-2) was led by Chris Watson with 21 points, including 15 in the second half.
NORTHWESTERN STATE 76, MISSISSIPPI STATE 75 (OT): Keenan Jones' 3-pointer with 44 seconds left in overtime lifted the visiting Demons (2-1) past the Bulldogs (3-1).
GEORGIA 69, WESTERN KENTUCKY 65: Billy Humphrey's steal and subsequent free throw with 5.4 seconds to play sealed the visiting Bulldogs win.

CLEMSON 68, CHARLESTON SOUTHERN 56: K.C. Rivers and Akin Akingbala each scored 13 points for the visiting Tigers (4-0), who led for nearly the entire game.
Charleston Southern (2-1) got a career-high 13 points and 10 rebounds from Vernon Huger.
NORTH CAROLINA STATE 61, NOTRE DAME 48: The Wolfpack's smothering defense created 15 turnovers, and Ilian Evtimov scored 12 points, including three 3-pointers, as North Carolina State (5-0) rolled past the Fighting Irish in the Wooden Tradition in Indianapolis.

WISCONSIN 92, COASTAL CAROLINA 54: Kammron Taylor scored 20 and Brian Butch added 17 and nine rebounds as the host Badgers improved to 4-0.
Wisconsin won despite forward Alando Tucker's quiet night. He took only one shot from the floor, finishing with five points and two rebounds. Tucker had averaged 22.7 points in the Badgers' first three games.
Moses Sonko paced the Chanticleers with 19 points, while Pele Paelay added 13.
MINNESOTA 67, TENN-CHATTANOOGA 46: Maurice Hargrow tied a career-high with 24 points to lead the host Gophers (2-0).
MICHIGAN 78, BUTLER 74: Daniel Horton scored 28 points, including eight in the final 49 seconds, for the host Wolverines (3-0).
XAVIER 74, PURDUE 55: Brian Thornton scored 23 points and Stanley Burrell added 16 as the Musketeers (2-0) pulled away at the John Wooden Tradition in Indianapolis.
SOUTHERN CAL 57, ALASKA-ANCHORAGE 56: RouSean Cromwell tipped in a missed free throw with 13 seconds left as the Trojans (2-2) hung on to defeat the host Seawolves (5-3) for fourth place in the Great Alaska Shootout.
OREGON 84, RICE 60: Malik Hairston and Chamberlain Oguchi scored 14 points each for the host Ducks (4-0).
DRAKE 86, TCU 79: Chris Bryant scored 13 points as the Bulldogs (3-1) placed third in the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational.
UNLV: The school honored former basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian before taking on No.22 Nevada, dedicating the court at the Thomas & Mack Center after the man who put the Runnin' Rebels in the national spotlight.
Tarkanian retired in 2002 with 729-201 mark in 31 years at the Division I level, ranking 12th all-time.
