TAMPA - About 20 people were temporarily stranded on Busch Gardens' Montu ride Saturday night when it was shut down as a safety precaution.
The ride was stopped about 6 p.m. after a sensor lit up on the control panel, indicating a potential problem, said Aimee Jeansonne Becka, a Busch Gardens representative. Passengers were evacuated as a safety precaution.
No injuries were reported, and the ride resumed operations about two hours after it was stopped.
According to the Busch Gardens Web site, Montu is one of the tallest and longest inverted roller coasters in the world. It features an inverse diving loop and a 60-foot vertical loop, with speeds of more than 60 mph.
