HERNANDO - A woman who was pictured in Friday's Citrus Times renewing her wedding vows lost her battle with cancer the day the photo was published. Debbie West, 54, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 25, 2005) at her home, according to her sister, Marcia Fisher of Tennessee.

Mrs. West was diagnosed with small cell cancer in February. On Thanksgiving Day, she and her husband of 34 years, Harry West, renewed their wedding vows while floating atop an air mattress in the swimming pool at their Hernando home.

The ceremony was photographed by a Citrus Times photographer and the photo was published Friday. The couple had lived in Citrus County about 18 months. Mrs. West will be cremated, and no services are planned, Fisher said.
