Learn to use the Internet to research genealogy

The West Pasco County Genealogical Society will give a seminar on "The Internet and the Genealogy Connection" from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the community room at SunTrust Bank, 6128 U.S. 19, New Port Richey.

The cost is $10. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. Call (727) 372-3468 to register.

The Genealogy Society will also have a meeting at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, 6219 River Road, New Port Richey.

Dinners, dances

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Chester McKay Post 7987, 7445 Chester McKay Drive, New Port Richey, will serve meatloaf and other entrees from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. The cost is $6-$7.50.

The Knights of Columbus Father Farrell Council 6476, 2040 Grand Blvd., Holiday, will have a dinner and dance on Wednesday. Dinner will be from 5 to 7 p.m., and dancing will follow from 7 to 10. Tickets are $10, $9 for members. Dancing only is $4.

The Orchid Lake Village Civic Association, 7425 Orchid Lake Road, New Port Richey, will have a "Dance to the Beat Dance Party" on Wednesday. A lesson will be given at 6:30 p.m., and dancing will follow from 7:15 to 10. The cost is $5.

Also

American Legion Paradise Post 79, 5329 Legion Place, New Port Richey, will have a euchre competition at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Bendys will play from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., and food will be served from 4:30 to 5:30. A darts competition will follow at 7:30. Call (727) 842-4378.
