  • For their own good

Holiday time travel

By Times Staff Writer
Published December 1, 2005

Nothing gets us in the holiday mood better than a walk through time at the Henry B. Plant Museum's Victorian Christmas Stroll. Every room in the museum inside the former Tampa Bay Hotel, now part of the University of Tampa, is festooned with a Christmas tree, period decorations, antique toys and other paraphernalia of the turn of the 20th century. (Plus, there's cider and cookies on the verandah.)

The stroll begins Friday and is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Dec. 23. Admission is $9 for adults and $3 for ages 3 to 12 Tuesdays through Sundays. Mondays are Family Day with $5 admission for adults and $2 for children. Those 65 and older get in for $5 on Tuesdays.

The museum is at 401 W Kennedy Blvd., Tampa. 813 254-1891 or www.plantmuseum.com
