DADE CITY - A Raymond B. Stewart Middle School teacher was arrested Friday morning, accused of stealing prescription drugs from his ex-girlfriend, a fellow teacher.
Raymond Olander faces charges of petty theft, trespassing on school grounds and disruption of a school function.
According to arrest reports, Olander did not show up for work Friday and instead turned up at Pasco High School, appearing drunk.
The reports say he went into the office of teacher Dorothy Hildick, who is his ex-girlfriend, and stole blood pressure medicine from her purse. Later, Olander denied taking the medicine, but claimed to Dade City police that he had been looking in the purse for Percocet, which contains the narcotic oxycodone.
Olander was asked to leave the office by Hildick's adult daughter, the reports say, but he refused until someone told him a school resource officer was on the way to remove him. An officer soon caught up with him at Pasco Middle School.
Olander, 40, of 5916 Ninth St., was released from the county jail early Saturday on $2,000 bail.
Fire causes explosions, destroys business
NEW PORT RICHEY - A fire ravaged Foster's Auto Crushing on Voorhees Road early Saturday, burning for more than an hour as Pasco County Fire Rescue workers contained it.
The 4 a.m. fire caused several explosions as cylinders of compressed gas heated and burst, fire investigator Stephen Smith said. He had yet to determine the cause of the blaze, he said.
The destroyed building, which had been there for about 40 years, sat by a salvage yard where used auto parts were sold, Smith said. No one was reported injured.

The girl told a detective that on Oct. 5, Hughes picked up her and others and took them back to his house in Zephyrhills. She said that, once there, someone there told her that Hughes would not take them where they wanted to go until she had sex with him. She said she went into his bedroom and he said, "Let's do this, so you can get a ride."
After his arrest, Hughes told the detective that he performed sexual acts with the girl, but denied they had intercourse.
