TAMPA - A 33-year-old man remained in jail on Sunday after officials said he tried to abduct three girls from a playground at a north Tampa apartment complex.

Ulises Bejarano tried to lure three girls, ages 7 and 8, Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies said. The father of two girls detained Bejarano. Sheriff's deputies were called to the complex on Fletcher Avenue and 12th Street.

Bejarano, who said he is from Honduras, offered no explanation, but said he was looking for photographs of his wife. Bejarano was charged with false imprisonment and resisting arrest without violence.
