HCA has announced that it has received the 2005 Theodore Roosevelt Workers' Compensation and Disability Management Workers' Compensation and Disability Management Award for the private sector at a luncheon in Chicago. Each year Risk and Insurance magazine, a weekly trade journal, presents the award to companies that have exceptional employee injury prevention and return to work programs. Also, HCA is donating more than 1,000 used hospital beds valued at about $100,000 to hospitals in third-world countries, primarily in Africa and Central America.
