TAMPA - A 27-year-old North Tampa man died early Wednesday when he crashed into a tree 12 miles from his home, after losing control of a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta off Livingston Avenue in Lutz.

Mark Thomas Morrow of 13745 Chestersall Drive was driving north on Livingston near Spring Green Drive when he ran off the right shoulder of the road, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Morrow overcorrected, started spinning and hit a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to sheriff's officials.

He died at the scene.
