CELEBRATING BY BOAT AND BY BIKE

Everybody loves a parade, by land or by sea. There are a dozen to choose from this weekend, from the waterways of South Pinellas to the streets of Inverness. The largest is the St. Petersburg Lighted Boat Parade along the waterfront downtown and along Snell Isle tonight. The two most unusual: the decorated canoes, kayaks and motorboats of the Hillsborough River Holiday Boat Parade Saturday night and the tricked-out bikes of the Mingle & Jingle motorcycle parade through Zephyrhills Saturday night.

"NUTCRACKER' WITH A TWIST

Classic Tchaikovsky gets a hip-hop and funk makeover in The Chocolate Nutcracker, a Ruth Eckerd Hall tradition starring dozens of local dancers. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Clearwater hall. $14.50-$19.50. (727) 791-7400.
