TARPON SPRINGS - The Tarpon Springs Police Cops and Kids program is conducting its annual Christmas toy drive, which has provided gifts to more than 200 children from low-income families each year since 1991.

Department volunteers try to match donated toys to each child's letter to Santa. Individuals, civic groups and businesses donate new, unwrapped gifts for infants through teens, and some donate cash to help meet specific requests. The Cops and Kids program does not solicit by telephone. Interested donors can call police at (727) 938-2849 or drop by the station at 444 S Huey Ave.
