1. LAKEWOOD (4-0): The Spartans won two games this week by an average score of 72-30. We see they are in midseason form. NEXT UP: Tonight at Osceola.
2. LARGO (3-0): Romped in last week's matchup with then-No. 5 PHU, but the big one is tonight against Clearwater. NEXT UP: Tonight at Clearwater
3. ST. PETERSBURG CATHOLIC (3-0): The Barons handed previously unbeaten Bishop Verot a loss Tuesday, with 30 from two-time Player of the Year Aaron Holmes.
4. OLDSMAR CHRISTIAN (3-0): The Eagles will find out just how good they are Saturday when they host Miami Chaminade and super prospect Edwin Rios, one of the top recruits in the country. NEXT UP: Saturday, host Chaminade.
5. BOCA CIEGA (5-0): The Pirates have knocked off Gibbs, St. Petersburg and Clearwater this season. Which leaves them with this: Bring on those Spartans! NEXT UP: Tonight at Dixie Hollins.
6. CLEARWATER (4-1): Only loss came in OT to Bogie, but who will remember that if the Tornadoes knock off archrival Largo tonight. Not us, that's for sure. NEXT UP: Tonight, host Largo.
7. GIBBS (4-1): Missed chance to make an early-season splash in losing to Bogie, but the deep Gladiators will get more chances. NEXT UP: Next Friday at Pinellas Park Holiday Tournament.
