PALM HARBOR - An accident involving a Pinellas County school bus and a Toyota about 9:15 a.m. Friday did $2,500 in damage to the car but did not result in any injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
School bus driver Andrea P. Herring, 30, of Clearwater was turning left from Tampa Road to go north on U.S. 19. The bus slid right, and Herring lost control, troopers said. The bus went over the median and struck the rear of a Toyota waiting to turn left from U.S. 19 onto Tampa Road. Neither the driver of the Toyota, 82-year-old Edward C. Rogers of Tarpon Springs, his passenger, Mary Hannon, 73, nor Herring and the seven students aboard the bus were hurt. The accident did $250 in damage to the bus. Herring was cited for failing to use due care on a wet roadway.
