Women: 'Canes easily blow past Hartford

CORAL GABLES - Tamara James had 22 points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead Miami to an 82-62 win over Hartford on Saturday.
Renee Taylor and LaToya Cunningham each scored 14 for the Hurricanes (7-1), and Melissa Knight added 12 points, four assists and five steals.
Miami shot 54.8 percent and led 50-34 at halftime. It had a 16-7 advantage in steals.
Erika Messam scored 16 for Hartford (6-2).

NO.11 DePAUL 86, WISC.-GREEN BAY 62: Jenna Rubino scored 13 of her team-high 18 in the first half for the host Blue Demons (8-1).
After Amanda Popp hit a 3-pointer to bring Wisconsin-Green Bay (5-2) within seven, DePaul went on a 23-4 run to end the first half and take a 49-23 lead.
DePaul outrebounded UW-Green Bay 44-20 while shooting 62 percent.
NO.14 MINN. 83, WASH. ST. 57: Jamie Broback scored 16 to lead the Golden Gophers.
Minnesota (6-1) extended its home winning streak to four, while the Cougars' four-game winning streak ended.
The Gophers took control early, getting 3-pointers from Shannon Schonrock, Shannon Bolden and Kelly Roysland during a 19-4 run that pushed the lead to 26-10. After Washington State (6-2) closed to 29-19, Minnesota went on a 16-2 run to take a 47-21 lead early in the second half.
NO.16 OKLAHOMA 68, MISSOURI ST. 57: Freshman Courtney Paris scored 15 in the second half and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead the visiting Sooners.
Oklahoma (9-1) saw a 16-point first-half lead shrink to 46-42 with 9:36 left after a basket by Kari Koch. The Sooners, who committed 25 turnovers, responded with a 14-3 run to push the lead to 60-45 with 4:08 left.
Paris was held scoreless in the first half, missing her only two attempts. Missouri State (3-2) shot 34 percent (20-for-59). Oklahoma hit 22-of-42 for 52 percent.
NO.17 GEORGIA 106, SAVANNAH ST. 34: Sherill Baker scored 19, and Megan Darrah and Tasha Humphrey had 18 apiece for the host Bulldogs.
Cori Chambers added 15 points for Georgia (7-2), which held the Tigers to one field goal in the first half. Savannah State (1-7) had 37 turnovers and finished 9-for-39.
The Tigers committed 21 turnovers while shooting 1-for-18 in the first half. Five of the missed shots were air balls. The Bulldogs led 24-0 before Savannah State, which had 14 turnovers in its first 16 possessions, got on the board with a pair of free throws 9:31 into the game.
NO.21 VANDY 82, MIAMI (OHIO) 50: Caroline Williams got all 22 of her points in the first half to lead the host Commodores.
Vanderbilt (8-2) opened with a 13-1 run, capped by Williams' 3-pointer with 15:52 left in the half.
NO.23 UTAH 81, GONZAGA 54: Shona Thorburn had 22 points and a career-high 13 assists for the host Utes.
With the Utes leading 63-45 late in the second half, they used a 16-6 run to stretch their advantage to 28 points.
Gonzaga used a 9-0 run to cut its deficit to 46-38 with 14:53 left in the second half. Utah's Kim Smith hit a 3-pointer about 11/2 minutes later, and the Bulldogs didn't get any closer.
