New students can register in Pinellas

Registration for incoming kindergarteners and other students who will be new to Pinellas County schools in August 2006 is continuing at several satellite centers in addition to the two family education and information centers.

Students must be registered before they can participate in the school choice application periods in February and March.

The following sites will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday:

Palm Harbor Elementary, 415 15th St., 669-1156.

High Point Elementary, 6033 150th Ave. N, Clearwater, (727) 538-7440.

Blanton Elementary, 6400 54th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, (727) 547-7820.

These sites will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday:

Eisenhower Elementary, 2800 Drew St., Clearwater, (727) 725-7978.

Starkey Elementary, 9300 86th Ave. N, Seminole, (727) 547-7841.

Bay Point Elementary, 5800 22nd St. S, St. Petersburg, (727) 552-1449.

Parents should bring an original or certified copy of the child's state-issued birth certificate; proof of residency such as a recent utility bill for power, water, cable, sewer or noncellular phone or lease agreement with the parent/guardian's name and service address on it; and a recent report card for students entering Grades 1-12.

Parents also can register at the family education and information center in Clearwater, 1101 Marshall St. (7270 298-2858; or the St. Petersburg center at 3420 Eighth Ave., 552-1595.
