Bicyclist dies after being hit by truck

TAMPA - A 51-year-old bicyclist died Tuesday morning after being hit by a truck.
Steven Reese Goodwin of 2511 N 55th St. in Tampa was riding eastbound in the emergency lane on Broadway Avenue E when Marshall Wiggins, 49, of 124 Cherry Lane in Tampa, struck the bicycle.
Goodwin was thrown from his bike, landing in a ditch. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he died from his injuries. The accident occurred at 6 a.m. Hillsborough sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said detectives are still investigating the accident. No charges have been filed.
