Published December 16, 2005

A basketball injury has forced teenage rapper/actor Romeo to drop out of ABC's Dancing with the Stars. Fortunately, his dad has his back.

Hip-hop impresario and sometime professional basketball player Master P (a.k.a. P. Miller) has agreed to take his son's place on season two of Dancing with the Stars, which premieres Jan. 5.

Miller, who starred with his son in the Nickelodeon show Romeo! a couple of seasons back, has sold millions of records and is head of the No Limit label.

On Dancing with the Stars, Miller will team with professional dancer Ashly Delgrosso.

PETA names Paris Hilton worst-dressed of 2005

NEW YORK - Move over Mr. Blackwell, PETA has issued its own "worst-dressed" list - based on fur, not style.

Paris Hilton was named the year's worst-dressed celebrity by the animal rights group Thursday. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals cites the hotel heiress/reality TV star for wearing fur coats.

Hilton is followed on the 2005 worst-dressed list by Kimberly Stewart, Lisa Gastineau, Victoria Gotti and Tara Reid. Martha Stewart headed last year's list, but has recently reversed course. In September, the domestic diva hosted a PETA-produced video on fur and said, "I used to wear real fur, but, like many others, I had a change of heart when I learned what actually happens to the animals."

Alicia Keys and Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham, both previously accused by PETA, have also since said they've given up fur.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Lawyers allowed juror Fantasia Barrino, the 2004 American Idol winner, to leave a case in mid-deliberations after learning the singer had to attend a benefit concert in New York.

Barrino, a High Point native who now owns a home in southeast Charlotte, was chosen Wednesday to serve in a motor vehicle negligence case.
