VALRICO - Mark West, the principal of Turkey Creek Middle School, now has the keys to the empty principal's office at Bloomingdale High.

He takes the post from B.J. Stelter, the principal for 14 years who is retiring early due to health concerns.

West has worked in Hillsborough schools for 20 years. He taught at Bloomingdale High between 1987 and 1992.

For more than seven years, West has served as principal of Turkey Creek Middle School.
