Suspects in recent robberies identified

By Times Staff Writer
Published December 17, 2005

Pinellas County sheriff's officials Friday said they were looking for two Tampa men in connection with five local robberies.

Arrest warrants for grand theft were issued for Ronnie Simmons, 56, and Angelo Peoples, 53, sheriff's officials said. Detectives were still trying to identify a third suspect. Officials say the three have stolen more than $1,000 from Pinellas County businesses by distracting cashiers and then reaching into the cash registers. The latest incident occurred Nov. 21 at Caparele Pool & Supply at 12301 Seminole Blvd. The men were last seen driving a three-door silver 2000 Daewoo with Florida license plate S48 6EP. Anyone with information about these suspects is asked to contact Detective Jeremy Nygren at (727) 582-6200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS.
