Dungy's son found dead in apartment

By Times online staff
Published December 22, 2005

James Dungy, the 18-year-old son of former Bucs coach Tony Dungy, was found dead this morning in his USF-area apartment.

Hillsborough County deputies arrived at the Campus Lodge Apartments at 1:32 a.m., where Antoinette Anderson, the girlfriend of James Dungy, had found his body, according to the sheriff's office.

A deputy performed CPR on Dungy before he was transferred to University Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is pending autopsy, though law enforcement officials have ruled out foul play.

Aside from James, Tony Dungy and his wife Lauren have two sons Eric and Jordan and two daughters Tiara and Jade.
