THE CELEBRATION OF LIGHTS at Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park continues 5:30 to 8 p.m. today and Saturday. Each night will have musical entertainment ranging from "A Country Christmas" featuring David Robertson to "A Caribbean Christmas" with the Parrotheads of Citrus County. On Saturday, which is Christmas Eve, a donation of nonperishable canned food items may be accepted in lieu of a financial donation. Otherwise, admission is $2 per adult and $1 for children ages 6 through 12. The Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park's volunteer group will have food for sale. Transportation is provided by tram from the visitor center parking lot on U.S. 19 to the west entrance on Fishbowl Drive and will be offered. FLORIDA SONGS WANTED: The Will McLean Foundation is accepting entries for its Best New Florida Song contest until Dec. 31. The lyrics must be about some aspect of Florida. Each writer can submit up to three songs. Winners will perform at the Will McLean Music Festival in March at the Sertoma Ranch in southeastern Hernando County. WEST CITRUS ELKS of Homosassa will hold its annual New Year's Eve party at the lodge on Dec. 31. Dinner will be served at 8 p.m. and features a choice of prime rib or salmon with dill sauce. Dance from 9 to 1 a.m. to music by Paul Stevio. Tickets and table reservations for members and guests are $40 and are available at the bar or from the lodge secretary during her regular business hours. 2006 IS FAST APPROACHING and the Beverly Hills Recreation Association, 77 Civic Circle, will have a New Year's Eve dinner/dance Dec. 31. A buffet dinner will be catered by Ferrara's consisting of prime rib and stuffed flounder entrees with all the side dishes and dessert. The music will be provided by M.C. Entertainment. Doors open at 6:30, dinner at 7 and dancing at 8 pm. Champagne at midnight is included as is coffee and setups. Tickets for BHRA members are on sale now for $35. Tickets for nonmembers are $40.
