Respecting the beliefs of all people
Letters to the Editor
Published December 23, 2005
Re: How about a little respect for those who observe Christmas?, Dec. 21 letter to the editor:
According to Peter Stathis, "If you want people to respect your beliefs, then respect theirs." I respect your beliefs, Mr. Stathis. However, I respect the beliefs of all people, not just those who believe as you or I do. Because I respect the beliefs of all, and even though I may be putting myself and my family at risk of having my telephone "tapped," I wish all who read this newspaper: "Season's Greetings."
If the season that you wish to celebrate is Christmas, your season's greeting is Merry Christmas. If the season you are celebrating is Hanukkah, your season's greeting is Happy Hanukkah, etc. Thereby, by wishing Mr. Stathis "season's greetings," I am respecting his belief, and I am not trying to force-feed my beliefs on him. I am showing the respect he wishes and deserves, and I hope he would respect the beliefs others have.

No speed bumps, please, for paved W Lema Drive
Now that W Lema Drive is being paved, I hope county commissioners don't put speed bumps in. Then I wouldn't be able to travel 65 mph.
Their consideration of this request will be greatly appreciated.

Price isn't everything when picking apartment
Re: Apartments score win for affordability, Dec. 20 Times:

Just about every Sunday, the address shows up in the sheriff's crime report published in the Times.
