Woman, 31, arrested on drug charges

HOMOSASSA - A woman was arrested on several drug charges after a traffic stop Sunday. Nancy Ann Consalvo, 31, of 8825 W Harbor Road, Homosassa, was pulled over on U.S. 19 for suspicion of running a stop sign on Suffolk Terrace, according to an arrest report from the Citrus County Sheriff's Office. During a search of her vehicle, she got out of the car and appeared to be holding something in her hand, according to the report. It was a bag containing about 18 grams of cocaine, the report stated. The search turned up pipes with drug residue, more than 150 painkillers and $556. She was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drugs without a prescription, giving false information to a police officer, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and obstructing a law officer, the report said. A computer check turned up arrest warrants for failing to appear at a court hearing on different drug charges and failure to pay child support. Consalvo remained in the Citrus County jail Monday without bail on the failure to appear charges and $21,000 bail on the drug charges.
Man accused of DUI, resisting arrest
HOMOSASSA - A man was charged with driving under the influence and resisting an officer after a car crash early Sunday. Jeffrey R. Collum, 65, 6793 S Mason Creek Road, Homosassa, struck a parked vehicle on County Road 490 a few minutes after midnight Christmas Day, according to the arrest report from the Florida Highway Patrol. During the crash investigation, the trooper noticed Collum smelled of alcohol and that his eyes were bloodshot and watery, the report stated. Collum then failed roadside sobriety tests. When being placed under arrest, he stiffened his arms to prevent handcuffs from being placed on him, and officers had to force his arms behind his back, the report stated. Collum was charged with DUI, DUI causing property damage and resisting an officer. He was released Sunday from the Citrus County jail after posting bail.
