Where to take your post-Christmas tree

By Times Staff Writer
Published December 28, 2005

TAMPA - Fido is gnawing branches and pine needles are surfacing in strange corners of the house. Time to ditch that tired tannenbaum.

Hillsborough County's solid waste management department will pick up trees curbside on normal service days, provided they're cut into 4-foot chunks. Trees can be hand delivered from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday to waste facilities at 350 Falkenburg Road, 8001 Linebaugh Ave. and 13001 U.S. 41. Bring ID and a copy of your property tax bill.

City of Tampa residents can leave trees on the curb from Jan. 3-13 or take them to Manhattan Brush Site, 7215 Manhattan Ave., 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 8 a.m. to noon Sunday.

Trees can be taken to the USF Drop-Off Recycling Center at Sycamore Drive and 50th Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 7.

Trees must be decoration-free.
