Ah, the new year. Promises not yet broken. Hope and optimism overflowing. Many of us will enter 2006 declaring that this will be the year we actually fulfill our New Year's resolutions. To help make them stick, the City Times staff put them on paper for you to peruse and build upon. From all of us, here's to a great new year.

* * *

I vow this is the year I have my housewarming. (I've been in my house for four years.)

- Gina Bowden-Pierce

* * *

To raise a pet monkey named Henry.

- Shannon Breen

* * *

I pledge to make the most of every moment and give more than I take.

- Sherri Day

* * *

I'm going to learn to juggle and take life less seriously. That, and eat fruits and vegetables every day for lunch.

- Elisabeth Dyer

* * *

No more pork fried chocolate cheese fondue. For breakfast.

- Rick Gershman

* * *

To get into a great law school and have a somewhat stress-free first year.

- Jonathan Milton

* * *

To get and stay healthy, to read the stack of books towering beside my bed, to learn to play poker and to figure out the Times' new computer system.

- Amy Scherzer

* * *

To wake up 15 to 30 minutes earlier every morning and to work less.

- Susan Thurston
