Oval vs. Road
Of the 17 races of the 2005 IRL season, three will be on road courses. The rest will be on traditional oval courses. The Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is the first road course in IRL history. Each track is unique, and though there are great differences even among oval courses, the road courses will be especially challenging to car engineers. Here are some of the car modifications each team will be considering.
