'Be prepared': It's a good motto for boaters, as well
As you drive our area highways and roads on any day, especially early in the morning or late in the afternoon, you cannot help but notice the ever increasing number of vehicles towing boats to and from our waters. The marinas and public boat launching facilities throughout Citrus and neighboring counties are packed - and over the weekends are overflowing - with vehicles and boat trailers parked not only in every available parking space but also in any other available space - in the grass, between the trees or along the roadway! Obviously, there are more and more boats on our area's waterways. In a few weeks many of our winter residents, many of whom are boating and fishing enthusiasts, will return to the area, adding to these numbers. The need for caution and alertness has never been greater!
