City in a tizzy about the tank

By Times Staff Writer
Published January 1, 2006

SEMINOLE - The 110-foot water tank painted to look like a huge cage of birds has ruffled a few feathers in the city: City Council members don't like the tower and have said so recently in discussions about a new image they want to craft for Seminole.

Back in 2000, city officials approved the design. The county paid artist Tom Stovall $25,000 to paint it. But now, city leaders are thinking about other options.

We want to know what you think. Is the water tower mural appealing or appalling?

Send your comments to reporter Anne Lindberg by e-mail at lindberg@sptimes.com or leave a brief message on our Seminole water tower voice mail line, 892-2272. We'll print some of your comments, which may be edited, in a future edition of Neighborhood Times.
