Army Sgt. 1st Class Peter A. Sultana has returned to Fort Riley, Kan., after being deployed overseas for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sultana, a motor transport superintendent with 19 years of military service, is assigned to the 24th Transportation Company. He is the son of Emanuel W. and Betty Sultana of Clearwater. His wife, Monica, is the daughter of Valentine and Martha Balizan of Las Cruces, N.M. Sultana graduated in 1979 from Mayfield High School in Las Cruces.

Army Reserve Pfc. Brian M. Waldorf is deployed overseas at a forward operating location for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Waldorf, an administrative specialist, is normally assigned to the 406th Corps Support Battalion of Evansville, Ind. He has served in the military for two years. He is the former ward of Tracey L. Price of Lawrenceville, Ill., and the son of Render Britton Jr. of Clearwater. Waldorf is a 2005 graduate of Red Hill High School in Bridgeport, Ill.

Air Force Airman John Sweeney has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. During the six weeks of training, he studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations. Airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Lorraine Miller of Safety Harbor and Patrick Sweeney of Tampa. The airman is a 2004 graduate of Countryside High School in Clearwater.

Air Force Airman Andres J. Castellon has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. During the six weeks of training, he studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations. Airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Maurice Castellon of Daly City, Calif., and Gigi Briton of Largo.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Paul M. Woody has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. During the six weeks of training, he studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations. Airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Katie Woody of Dunedin and Dennis Woody of Holiday. The airman is a 2005 graduate of Countryside High School.

Seafarer Sterling Southworth Cox of Ozona has become a member of the U.S. Merchant Marine. He graduated from the unlicensed apprentice program at the Paul Hall Center for Maritime Training and Education in Piney Point, Md. He completed nine months of training in the basic skills of seamanship to work aboard a U.S. flag commercial vessel. He is the son of Truman and Cynthia Cox of Ozona.

Coast Guard Fireman Apprentice Robert Luis Garcia recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J. During the eight-week training program, Garcia completed a training curriculum of classroom academics, practical instruction on water safety and survival, military customs and courtesies, seamanship skills, first aid, fire fighting, and marksmanship. Garcia will join 36,000 men and women who are serving in the Coast Guard. Garcia is a 2003 graduate of Pinellas Park High School. He is the son of Suzanne G. Garcia of Clearwater and Luis M. Garcia of Tampa.
