Police search for two men in robbery at loans store

NEW PORT RICHEY - The Fast Payday Loans on U.S. 19 at Lemon Street was robbed Saturday shortly before 11 a.m.

New Port Richey police Detective Randy Murphy decribed the robbers as two black men in their mid to early 20s, about 5 feet 3 and 5 feet 6, and both weighing about 120 pounds. They were wearing blue jeans, black hooded sweat shirts, denim jackets and black ski masks, and they both carried black semiautomatic handguns, Murphy said.

The pair ordered the 56-year-old clerk to the floor, bound her arms and legs with duct tape and put tape over her mouth, Murphy said. They carried her to a back room took the money and fled.

Murphy said a woman who came into the store earlier may have also been involved in the robbery.
